A Watkins Glen woman has been charged in connection with a case of identity theft and grand larceny in Seneca County.
Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson said investigators arrested Jessica McClain on Tuesday, accusing her of using another person’s credit card information without permission to make multiple online purchases totaling more than $3,000.
McClain was processed at the Seneca County Jail and arraigned before being released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in Ovid Town Court at a later date.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who believes they may have been a victim in a similar case involving McClain is asked to contact Investigator Jarrod Surine at 315-220-3445 or by email at [email protected].
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
