A traffic stop in Seneca County has led to multiple charges for a woman from Ovid, including felony drug possession and driving while impaired by drugs.
Sheriff Tim Thompson reports that 31-year-old Sara Dove was arrested on Friday night after deputies observed her vehicle failing to keep right while driving through the Town of Fayette.
During the stop, deputies conducted field sobriety tests and determined that Dove was impaired by drugs. A subsequent search of her vehicle turned up methamphetamine and Clonazepam pills, both classified as controlled substances.
Dove now faces the following charges:
- Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs (Misdemeanor)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree (Felony)
- Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (Misdemeanor)
- Failure to Keep Right (Traffic Violation)
She was taken to the Seneca County Correctional Facility, where she awaits arraignment. Dove is scheduled to appear in Fayette Town Court at a later date
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
