Geneva Man Arrested for Violating Order of Protection

SHARE NOW

A Geneva man was arrested Thursday afternoon for violating a court order of protection at the Seneca Street Department of Social Services office.

Police say 41-year-old Michael Dove was found inside the building with a woman who is the protected party in a “stay away” order issued by the Town of Geneva Criminal Court. The order stemmed from a June 13 incident in which Dove was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and second-degree assault involving the same woman.

Dove was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
