A juvenile was arrested by the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department on Monday following an investigation into a domestic incident that turned physical.
Police say the juvenile was involved in a verbal altercation with the victim that quickly escalated. During the incident, the juvenile allegedly placed his forearms around the victim’s neck, restricting her ability to breathe.
Further investigation revealed there was an active order of protection in place at the time of the incident.
As a result, the juvenile was charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, a felony, and Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, a Class A misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Family Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
