A Penn Yan man is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing beer from the same business on two separate occasions.
Police say 57-year-old David Jensen was arrested on July 23 after stealing a 15-pack of beer. The business reported a similar incident involving Jensen on July 12. Officers located him shortly after the second theft on Carpenter Lane, with the stolen beer in his vehicle.
Jensen had previously been banned from the business in 2022 for a similar theft. He was taken into custody and processed at the Penn Yan Police Department.
Jensen is charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary (a felony), petit larceny, and third-degree criminal trespass, along with consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was transported to the Yates County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
