Gates Police say an employee is in custody after a deadly shooting at the Wegmans warehouse on Saturday afternoon.
Officers responded around 4 p.m. to find 25-year-old J’Mere Ridley-Smith shot multiple times inside the building. The suspect, 32-year-old Kyshonn Green, fled the state but was arrested Sunday night in Knoxville, Tennessee by U.S. Marshals.
Green was caught with a loaded handgun and is being brought back to Gates for arraignment. Police say they’re still investigating the motive.
Authorities say there was no threat to other employees or the community, and this incident is not related to the recent shooting at the Amazon fulfillment center last Thursday.
