An Auburn tradition returns Saturday for its seventh year.
The Chloe Calhoun Charity Softball Game will see teams from the Auburn Police and Fire Departments take to Falcon Park to compete in the charity game to raise money for the scholarship awarded annually to two graduating seniors at Auburn High School. Gates open at 5:00p with the opening ceremony scheduled for 6:00p.
Pre-game activities include music by Perform 4 Purpose, raffles, face painting, a kids zone, food and drinks, and batting practice.
The scholarship is named after Chloe Calhoun, who was killed by a drunk driver in 2016 shortly after graduating from high school.
Dain Schneider, the man who killed Calhoun, was released from prison in May, drawing the ire of many in the community, including Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci.
