A 66-year-old Rochester man is facing multiple charges after being stopped by a Seneca County Sheriff’s Sergeant for failing to stop at a stop sign while riding a motorcycle with a passenger.
According to Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson, the arrest took place around 5:00 p.m. on July 6 near East Lake Road and Lerch Road in the Town of Fayette. The driver, John Onderdonk of Fielding Road in Rochester, was found to be operating the motorcycle after leaving a local business where both he and his passenger had reportedly consumed alcohol.
Following a roadside investigation and field sobriety tests, Onderdonk was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.11%. He was charged with DWI, DWI with a BAC of 0.08% or higher, and failure to stop at a stop sign.
Onderdonk was issued appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Fayette Town Court on August 1.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
