The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that State Route 415 will be closed at the railroad crossing near May Street in the Village of Bath starting Monday for reconstruction work.
The closure is expected to last through Friday. During this time, drivers should follow a signed detour using Interstate 86 and expect potential travel delays.
The DOT urges motorists to seek alternate routes if possible and to drive cautiously through work zones. Speeding fines are doubled in construction areas, and multiple work zone violations can lead to license suspension.
All work is weather dependent and subject to change.
