Excitement is growing in the Village of Dundee as volunteers prepare to open Dundee Fresh Grocery, a long-awaited non-profit store offering fresh food and locally sourced goods. The store will officially open its doors on July 26 at 8 a.m. at 19 Union Street, across from the Dundee Village Hall and Fire Department.
The space has been transformed with the arrival of shelving, coolers, kitchen equipment, and café seating. Final staff hires and permit approvals are underway as the team gears up to stock the shelves and welcome customers.
Supported by the Greater Rochester Health Foundation and a range of corporate and local business donors, the project aims to fill a critical gap left since the closure of Martini’s Supermarket in 2019.
On its website, Dundee Fresh Grocery says it will offer fresh produce, pantry staples, and a cozy spot for coffee and quick meals, aiming to restore access to healthy food and create a gathering place for neighbors.
