New York Attorney General Letitia James is urging current and former DoorDash delivery workers to file claims for a share of a $16.75 million settlement by September 30, 2025. The settlement stems from a state investigation that found DoorDash misled both customers and delivery workers by using tips to subsidize guaranteed pay—rather than passing them directly to the workers.
The settlement, secured by the Attorney General’s Office in February 2025, is meant to return money to roughly 63,000 Dashers who delivered in New York between May 2017 and September 2019 and had tips used to offset their guaranteed wages.
“These hardworking delivery workers kept our communities going and deserve every dollar they earned,” said Attorney General James. “If you received a notice from the settlement administrator, don’t wait—file your claim today.”
Eligible workers were notified by mail, email, or text by the settlement administrator, Atticus Administration, with instructions on how to file a claim. The deadline to submit a claim is September 30, 2025. Claims must be submitted online.
The settlement also requires DoorDash to revise its payment model, clearly disclose how tips are used, and provide more transparency for both customers and Dashers. The full $16.75 million will be distributed to affected workers—no money will be kept by the state.
For more information or to file a claim, workers should refer to the instructions in their notice or visit the official settlement website provided by Atticus Administration.
