A Farmington man was taken into custody Wednesday night after failing to appear in court on multiple charges.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that 44-year-old Justin Payne was arrested without incident at his residence. Deputies executed a bench warrant issued by Farmington Town Court after Payne failed to appear to answer charges of third-degree assault, petit larceny, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Payne was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in CAP Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
