A Walworth woman is facing a long list of charges following a February crash and investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested 34-year-old Danielle Stokes on Tuesday in connection with a single-vehicle property damage crash that occurred on February 7 on Paddy Lane in the Town of Ontario.

According to investigators, Stokes allegedly stole a vehicle and cell phone from a man she had been drinking and using drugs with. When deputies arrived at the scene of the crash, Stokes was found to be highly impaired and unable to hold her head up or follow directions. She was transported to a hospital, where she became unresponsive and was treated by medical staff.

Toxicology reports later revealed Stokes had a blood alcohol content of 0.26%—more than three times the legal limit—and was under the influence of cocaine, buprenorphine, and midazolam.

She now faces multiple charges, including: DWI, Driving while ability impaired by drugs, Aggravated DWI (BAC .18% or higher), Reckless driving, Grand larceny (vehicle and property), Criminal possession of stolen property, Criminal possession of a controlled substance, and reckless endangerment of property

Stokes was processed at the Sheriff’s Office and released with appearance tickets. She is scheduled to appear in Ontario Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
