A Moravia woman has been charged with driving while intoxicated following a domestic incident in Cayuga County.
Sheriff deputies arrested 41-year-old Kattie Corey on June 29 after responding to a report of a domestic dispute involving two vehicles in the Town of Locke.
During the investigation, deputies determined that Corey had been operating her vehicle while intoxicated. She was taken into custody and brought to the Cayuga County Public Safety Building, where she submitted a breath sample showing a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent—more than twice the legal limit.
Corey was charged with DWI – First Offense, Aggravated DWI – Per Se, and multiple traffic violations. She was released with tickets and is scheduled to appear in Locke Town Court on July 16.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
