A Covert man is facing multiple charges following a months-long investigation by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Timothy Thompson reports that 41-year-old Peter B. Wright was arrested on June 23 in connection with a search warrant executed at his residence earlier this year. The warrant was carried out on January 10 and led to the discovery of firearms and drugs inside the home.
Wright is accused of illegally possessing three firearms while being a convicted felon and was also allegedly found in possession of heroin. As a result, he was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the fourth degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.
He was arraigned in Covert Town Court and released on an appearance ticket.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
