Two-Car Crash in Ontario County Leads to Injury and Arrest

SHARE NOW

A two-car crash at the intersection of County Road 46 and County Road 47 in Hopewell on Monday led to one person being hospitalized and another arrested for driving with a suspended license.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred when Jason Frederick, of Rochester, was traveling northbound on County Road 47 and struck another vehicle driven by Edward Dreher, of Clifton Springs, who was crossing the intersection from County Road 46 onto Booth Road. Frederick’s vehicle hit the rear passenger side of Dreher’s car.

All occupants were evaluated at the scene. One passenger in Dreher’s car was transported by ambulance to F.F. Thompson Hospital for further evaluation.

Deputies issued Dreher a ticket for failure to yield. Further investigation revealed that Frederick was driving a Chevrolet Malibu with a suspended license. He was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment at CAP Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
