One Injured in Arcadia Crash Caused by Unsafe Backing

SHARE NOW

A two-car crash last Wednesday morning in the Town of Arcadia sent one person to the hospital and resulted in a traffic citation for the at-fault driver.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the intersection of Whitbeck Road and Fleshman Road just after 11 a.m. following reports of a motor vehicle collision. Investigators determined that the crash occurred when a driver backed unsafely into the roadway, causing a second vehicle to collide with his.

The driver of the second vehicle, 47-year-old Mary Natrigo, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Newark-Wayne Hospital for treatment.

The at-fault driver, identified as William Mack of Farmington, was issued a traffic ticket and is scheduled to appear in Arcadia Town Court at a later date.

The Newark Fire Department and Wayne County EMS assisted at the scene.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
