A traffic stop on State Route 54A in the town of Jerusalem Saturday night resulted in the arrest of a Florida woman by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.
During the traffic stop, Bonnie O’Neill of Umatilla, Florida, was placed through a series of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and was taken to the Yates County Jail where she refused to submit to a chemical test. O’Neill was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, consumption or possession of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, unsafe lane change, failure to stop at a stop sign and no/insufficient tail lamps.
O’Neill will appear in Jerusalem Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
