Waterloo Man Charged with Trespass

SHARE NOW

A Waterloo man is facing charges after allegedly entering a home without permission in the Town of Geneva.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says 33-year-old Joseph Osterhout was arrested around 9 a.m. Wednesday and was charged with Criminal Trespass. Deputies say the arrest followed an incident earlier that morning, when Osterhout entered a Carter Road residence without the homeowners’ knowledge.

The homeowners reportedly found Osterhout standing in their kitchen upon returning home. After being confronted, he left the property and was later found by deputies across the street.

Osterhout was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to answer the charge in Geneva Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
