The race for Ontario County District Attorney is heating up.
Current DA Jim Ritts lost the Republican Primary last month to challenger Jason MacBride by just over 100 votes.
Ritts tells News 8 WROC-TV he feels compelled to stay in the race: for the community and his staff who are working on big cases like the Sam Nordquist case.
Ritts says MacBride ran a dishonest and negative primary campaign. Ritts also says MacBride has demeaned a number of people in the office, ensuring he says, a “mass exodus” should MacBride win.
MacBride says nothing could be further from the truth.
