A Lyons woman has been charged following a theft investigation at the Dollar General store in the Town of Lyons.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 43-year-old Kathleen Shoemaker-Kelley was arrested for petit larceny after she and another woman allegedly stole merchandise valued at $120.50. Authorities say the pair left the store without attempting to pay.
Shoemaker-Kelley was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. She was later released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
