Four people were taken to the hospital Friday afternoon following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Armington Road and State Route 21 in Ontario County.
Sheriff’s deputies say the crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. when a Dodge Caravan, driven by Mary Magistrado, of Farmington, entered the intersection from Armington Road and collided with a northbound Toyota van on Route 21. The impact struck the rear driver’s side of the Toyota, forcing it off the road and onto a guardrail before it rolled onto its passenger side.
The Toyota was driven by Latricia Booth, of Gahanna, Ohio, and had three passengers: Shaylin Niver in the front seat and two juveniles in the back. All four were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Magistrado was evaluated at the scene and declined further treatment.
Magistrado was issued tickets for failure to yield and unsafe start. Wayne County EMS and the Palmyra Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
