State Police arrested a Steuben County woman following a domestic-related incident that reportedly resulted in significant property damage at a home in the town of Erwin.
Troopers responded to 40 Redwood Circle for the report of damage to an apartment. The investigation determined that Finnerty had allegedly driven to the location after a dispute with a male acquaintance. The 32-year-old Painted Post woman is accused of approaching the apartment, forcibly entering, and damaging the front door during a confrontation. A child was present during the altercation.
Finnerty was charged with burglary and criminal contempt, both felonies, along with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and tampering.
Finnerty was released on an appearance ticket.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
