Bath Police report the arrest of a Bath man following a traffic stop on Chestnut Street in the Steuben County village.

An investigation resulted in Jordan Smith being charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Following processing, Smith was transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment due to refusing a chemical test. Smith was released following arraignment for Bath Village Court.

According to Bath Police, in the past three months, the department have issued Smith traffic tickets seven times for allegedly driving a car with a revoked driver’s license. He has been arrested five times on drug-related offenses and arrested two more times for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.

In the release, the Bath PD said these numbers do not include any arrests made by other agencies on Smith.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
