A town justice in Cayuga County has stepped down while under investigation by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
Lucas H. Ferrin, who served as justice in the town of Conquest, resigned in April as part of a plea deal following an October arrest for driving while intoxicated and several related charges, including obstruction of governmental administration.
The Commission began investigating Ferrin after he was formally charged. His resignation was a condition of his plea to the DWI misdemeanor, which resulted in the dismissal of all other charges.
Ferrin, who is not a licensed attorney, had held the bench since 2024. His term was set to run through the end of 2027.
