An inmate at the Schuyler County Jail has been charged with promoting prison contraband by the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.
Steven Brockway is accused of possessing a quantity of a controlled substance deemed to be dangerous while incarcerated in the jail on unrelated charges.
Following arraignment, the 64-year-old Tyrone resident was sent back to Schuyler County Jail and will answer the new charge in Schuyler County Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
