A Sodus man was arrested on multiple counts of endangering the welfare of a child following an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
It is alleged that Joseph Durgan struck a child and obstructed their breathing, causing injury. The incident happened during a domestic incident and was witnessed by two other children.
The 40-year-old was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, along with single counts of assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
