One man is in jail after police say he robbed a bank in Wayne County on Wednesday.
As Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at Lyons National Bank in Lyons just before 10 a.m., the suspect was spotted attempting to flee. When deputies caught up with Audie Arliss, the 39-year-old was allegedly found to be in possession of a large sum of money. He was also wearing clothing items that matched the description given by witnesses to police.
Arliss was charged with robbery and two counts of grand larceny.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were assisted by the New York State Police. Det. Sgt. Roger LaClair with the Sheriff’s Office reports the investigation will be forwarded to the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
