School Budget/BOE Voting Results

Here are the results of the annual school budget and Board of Election votes from around the Finger Lakes:

  • In Auburn, the school budget and capital improvement project propositions passed. Jason Horbal, Daniel Lovell, James Van Arsdale and Danielle Wood were elected to the BOE.
  • In Bath, voters approved the proposed budget and elected two new members to the BOE: Chauncy Watches (5-year) and Kelsey Folckemer (2-year).
  • In Bloomfield, both propositions passed. Ken Mathis was re-elected to a new term on the BOE.
  • In Bradford, both propositions passed. Alex Waters was re-elected to the BOE.
  • In Canandaigua, voters passed a $93.4 million budget for the 2025-2026 school year with 74 % of voters approving the budget. Four other propositions passes. Julianne Miller was re-elected to a 5-year term on the Board of Education.
  • In Dryden, all propositions passed. Leslie Debo, Christina Cushman and Michael Hall were elected to the BOE
  • In Dundee, all four propositions passed. John Frederick, Kristen VanValkenburg and Brad Cole were elected to the Board of Education.
  • In Gananda, the school budget was DEFEATED 224-326. Michael Cardarelli, Greg Giles, and Richard Howcroft were elected to the BOE.
  • The Geneva City School District’s proposed budget passed on Tuesday with 80.1 percent voter approval. Candidates Brian Finnerty and Matthew Herbert ran uncontested for the school board. As the top vote-getter, Finnerty won a five-year term, while Herbert won a one-year term.
  • In Groton, the budget proposal passed. Phillip Esparza and Leon Brockway, Jr. were elected to the BOE
  • In Hammondsport, the proposed budget passed. In the BOE vote, Mike Martuscello received 98 votes and Liz Ryder received 95.
  • In Ithaca, both propositions passed. Jacob Shiffrin, Karen Yearwood, Erin Croyle, and Madeline Cardona were elected to the BOE.
  • In Honeoye, the budget passed. Megan Basile and Karen Scheele were elected to the BOE.
  • In Lyons, the budget passed. Lisa Stone and Mark Bookmiller were elected to the BOE.
  • In Manchester-Shortsville, both propositions passed. Scott Van Aken and Barbara Gardner won BOE seats.
  • In Marcus Whitman, all five propositions passed. BOE results: 1. Jessica Wickham, 487 votes 2. John Foust, 467 votes 3. Ashley Conley, 440 votes.
  • In Marion, both propositions passed. Cindy Matteson and Tracey Tull were elected to the BOE.
  • In Naples, voters passed propositions for the School Budget, Naples Library and creation of a New Capital Reserve. The proposition for the purchase of the Hazlitt Property was DEFEATED 207-213. Amie Levine and Steven Mark were elected to the BOE.
  • In Newfield, all three propositions passed. In the BOE vote, George Taylor (297), Christina Ward (251), and Antwane Lynch (248).
  • In North Rose-Wolcott, all propositions passed and Tina Reed was elected to a five-year term on the BOE.
  • In Odessa-Montour, all five propositions passed. David Stigers and Will Shrout were elected to the BOE.
  • In Palmyra-Macedon, all three propositions were approved. Chris Doyle, Gary LaBerge, and Dave Landon were re-elected to the BOE.
  • In Penn Yan, the proposed budget passed 700-128 and the Transportation Vehicle purchase was approved 659-163. For the Board of Education, Kenneth Walker was re-elected.
  • In Phelps-Clifton Springs, all propositions passed. Jackie (Gallahan) Blake and Nicholas Hargarther were elected to the BOE.
  • In Prattsburgh, 111 residents voted for and 111 residents voted against the budget. Two ballots cast were voided. Joel Sanford was elected to the Board of Education and the Library proposition passed.
  • In Red Creek, both propositions passed. Nancy Henner Dingman and Stephanie Kaiser were elected to the BOE.
  • In Romulus, all propositions passed. John Fowler and Kimberly Wolverton were elected to the BOE.
  • In Seneca Falls, all four propositions passed. Anthony Ferrara, Matthew Lando, and Denise Lorenzetti were all elected to the Board of Education.
  • In South Seneca, all five propositions passed. Daniel Borst and Kristin Parry were elected to the BOE.
  • In Trumansburg, all three propositions were passed. Suzanne Organ, Jim Mielty, and James Kemmerer were elected to the BOE.
  • In Victor, both propositions passed. Tim DeLucia, Lisa Kostecki, and Elizabeth Mitchell were elected to the BOE
  • In Waterloo, all propositions passed. Coreen Lowry, Kyle Percey, Barbara Westerberg, and Chersti Kuhlmann were elected to the BOE.
  • In Watkins Glen, both propositions passed. Keith Caslin and Chad Hendrickson were elected to 3-year-terms on the BOE; Astra Titus was elected to a 1-year term.
  • In Wayne, both propositions passed. Carrie Resch, Jennifer Schoene, and Andrew Whitaker were elected to the BOE.
  • In Williamson, both propositions passed. Sarah Schembri and Rae Verbridge were elected to the BOE.
