A Rome, NY man who was recently arrested by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at the Town of Jerusalem Court on an unrelated matter was taken into custody by Penn Yan Police on a bench warrant out of village court.
The warrant for Devan Britton was issued after he allegedly failed to appear in Penn Yan Court for failing to appear on DWI charges. Britton was also charged with Bail Jumping for failing to appear in court on the aforesaid date and within the preceding thirty days thereafter.
Britton was transported to the Yates County Jail for CAP arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
