Kicking off National EMS Week and in recognition of their 15 years of providing lifesaving air medical service to the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes region, LifeNet of New York 7-7 is hosting a special anniversary event on Sunday.
Based in Hornell, LifeNet is celebrating its years of service by honoring the dedication of local first responders, partners, and community supporters who have helped make LifeNet’s mission of providing critical lifesaving care possible over the past decade and a half. Also joining the celebration is former patient Nathan Donahue, who will reunite with members of the air medical team who provided his critical care nearly seven years ago following an ATV accident.
LifeNet of New York 7-7 is one of 12 air medical bases forming a comprehensive EMS ecosystem across New York. Operating 24/7/365, LifeNet services are often referred to as “flying ERs” or mobile ICUs, delivering advanced critical care at the scene and during transport. Crews are equipped with life-sustaining equipment and medications and can administer whole blood in flight—making a lifesaving difference in rural and underserved areas
Sunday’s event will be held from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m., with speeches and a presentation highlighting the history of the base to occur at approximately 1 p.m. at Hornell Municipal Airport.
