Newark Man Charged for Wayne County Accident

SHARE NOW

A Newark man is now facing charges following an investigation into a traffic stop that happened last August on Geneva Street in the town of Lyons.

On Sunday, Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Kevin Hobbs for driving while ability impaired by drug and alcohol combination, driving while intoxicated, an inadequate headlight, and criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell.

The charges stems from a traffic stop in which Hobbs was allegedly driving a car with an inadequate headlight. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Hobbs was driving the car while under the influence of marijuana and alcohol, while allegedly in possession of cocaine.

Upon receiving laboratory results, Hobbs was apprehended and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to await CAP arraignment.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
