A Throop man is facing charges in Cayuga County after a deputy sheriff spotted the pickup truck he was driving exit a parking lot at the Finger Lakes Mall and proceeded to drive recklessly.
A traffic stop was conducted by the deputy and through an investigation and standardized field sobriety tests, Kelly Caster was determined to be driving while intoxicated. Caster was arrested and transported to the Public Safety Building, where he was processed and charged with DWI, reckless driving, and other traffic infractions. After he refused to provide a breath sample to determine his BAC, Caster was brought to the Cayuga County Jail to CAP Court arraignment.
Caster was also charged with reckless driving and will appear in Aurelius Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
