The investigation into the report of a woman screaming for help in the town of Bath resulted in a robbery arrest.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Andrew Machuga repeatedly struck and choked another person and then forcibly stole property from them. The 30-year-old Bath man was charged with felony robbery, assault, and criminal obstruction of breathing. He was being held at the Steuben County Jail on the felony charges.
The victim was treated by EMS on the scene and was released.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
