A Geneva man was arrested on a felony burglary charge following an investigation by Seneca Falls Police.
The arrest of 58-year-old Willie Spann was the result of an investigation into the theft of merchandise at Walmart SuperCenter in Seneca Falls. Upon further investigation, police determined Spann allegedly fled the store after placing merchandise in his coat and passing all points of sale without any attempt to render payment for the items in his possession. Prior to this incident, Spann was trespassed from all Walmart properties in 2023. Because of the previous trespass, Spann was charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor petit larceny.
Spann was processed at the Seneca Falls Police Department and brought to the Seneca County Jail to await arraignment.
State Police assisted the Seneca Falls Police Department in locating Spann.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
