The Yates County Highway Department has released its summer road construction, culvert, and bridge projects.
Road Construction;
- Ferguson-Corners Road (CR4) between Hall Road and the Village of Rushville line will be milled and paved this summer. Milling is scheduled to begin on April 28th and should take approximately 1 week to complete. Paving will proceed sometime in June.
- Guyanoga Road (CR29) between State Route 364 and State Route 54A will be milled and paved this summer. Milling is scheduled to begin on or around May 5th and should take approximately 1 week to complete. Paving will proceed sometime in June.
Culvert Replacement (Road Closure);
- Italy Valley Road (CR18) in the Town of Italy between Martin Road and Maplewood Drive will be closed to all traffic for the replacement of a culvert near 895 Italy Valley Road. There will be a detour in place during this road closure. We anticipate the road to be closed for 3 to 4 weeks. Start Date for this work … TBD.
Bridge Rehabilitation (Road Closure);
- Pre-emption Road (CR15) between Toomey Road and Earls Hill Road (CR6) will be closed to all traffic for the Rehabilitation Project of the Pre-emption Road bridge directly adjacent to the Bellona Firehouse. This project is anticipated to take 4 months to complete. Local Traffic will be able to access the Bellona Hamlet from the South. There will be no on-site detour for this project. The start date of this project has yet to be determined.
Chip Seal Projects;
- Chip Seal projects are anticipated to be completed on the following roads however, this schedule has not been finalized.
- Himrod Rd. 1N Milo Leach Road ( CR28) to Village of Penn Yan
- Italy Hill Road 32 Jerusalem 54A to Darby’s Corners Road
- Lakemont-Himrod Rd 1S Starkey SR14 to Dundee Starkey Road (CR40)
- Lakemont-Himrod Rd 1S Starkey Dundee-Himrod (CR5) to Dundee-Starkey (CR40)
- Hobson Rd. 48 Barrington All
- Flynn Road 7 Milo / Torrey All
- City Hill Road 26 Milo / Torrey All
- Leach Road 28 Milo / Torrey All
