Ahead of spring in the Fingerlakes, the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is offering two safe boating certificate courses this month.
As of January 1, 2025, anyone operating a motorized vessel on New York waterways is required to have a certificate.
The first class will be held on March 22 at the Locke Volunteer Fire Department, and the second will be held on March 30 at the Ira Volunteer Fire Department. Both courses will run from 8:00a-4:00p.
