A garage fire yesterday afternoon in Gorham.
The fire on Lake to Lake Road destroyed the garage and killed peacocks and rabbits. The home on the property was saved with some exterior damage.
One resident was treated and released by the ambulance for smoke inhalation.
Gorham, Crystal Beach Fire Department, Rushville Hose Company, and Stanley Fire Department all responded to the scene.
It’s believed a water heater inside the garage for the animals may have malfunctioned. The garage itself was destroyed, along with everything inside of it, including a vehicle tractor, and some tools.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
