The suspect allegedly involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident Friday night in the city of Rochester was found by police in Ontario County.
Police say Bruce Bugbee of East Rochester struck a cyclist with a 2019 Chevy Silverado at Norton and North Streets around 9:30 before fleeing. The 51-year-old was allegedly intoxicated and had a child in the vehicle at the time.
State Police took Bugbee in custody after locating him in Ontario County on charges of vehicular manslaughter and aggravated DWI under Leandra’s Law.
The victim was identified as Jerome Blocker, a 62-year-old City of Rochester resident.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
