Hobart College senior attackman John Jude Considine (Southside/Rockville Centre, N.Y.) was named to the Atlantic 10 Conference preseason all-conference team in a vote of the league’s coaches. The Statesmen, who are entering their third season in the Atlantic 10, are picked to finish fourth in the conference and received one first place vote.
An All-Atlantic 10 second team selection as a sophomore, Considine has played in 17 career games, starting 13. He has 24 goals and four assists for 28 points.
In 2023, Considine started 10 of the 11 games he appeared in, recording 20 goals and three assists. He logged his first collegiate hat trick against No. 3 Cornell and scored a season-high four goals against Richmond. Considine played in just three games last season before suffering a season-ending injury.
In addition, the A10 announced the results of the preseason coaches poll. Richmond was picked first with 33 points and three first place votes. Saint Joseph’s was picked second with 28 points and two first place votes. High Point was third with 23 points. Hobart and Massachusetts are tied at fourth with 18 points each. St. Bonaventure rounded out the field with six points.
Hobart will open the season at home against Canisius University Feb. 8. It will be the 25th meeting between the I-90 rivals with the Statesmen holding a 23-1 series lead.
