A Corning woman is facing charges after she allegedly stole a coat from the lobby of the Steuben County Sheirff’s Office during inmate visitation.
It is alleged that Sara Herrick harassed another person and forcibly stole their coat, which had $1,000 in cash in the pockets.
The 41-year-old Herrick was arrested Thursday on a felony charge of robbery and was being held at the Steuben County Jail to await arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
