A new appointment for Auburn’s state senator.
Rachel May has been appointed chair of the state’s Consumer Protection Committee. This committee works to protect consumer interests and advocate for their rights against deception and exploitation.
“This committee’s mission is to safeguard the interests of New York State’s nearly 20 million consumers, ensuring they are shielded from unethical and dishonest practices in the marketplace. I am committed to fostering a fair and transparent economy where consumers know what they’re buying and what they’re paying for, where businesses act on a level playing field with each other, and where bad actors can be held accountable if it comes to that. I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues on the committee to ensure New Yorkers know their hard-earned money is going where they intended it to go. Thank you to Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins for this incredible opportunity — I am truly grateful and ready to make a positive impact,” said Senator Rachel May.”
