The Ontario County Board of Supervisors’ Planning & Environmental Quality Committee yesterday voted 4-3 to approve a resolution formalizing the closure of the county landfill at the end of 2028. The resolution now goes to the full board for a deciding vote at the next meeting December 5th.
Meanwhile, Seneca Falls Town officials have announced a special board meeting to address the 2025 Seneca Meadows landfill permit and Host Community Agreement. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 21st, at the Seneca Falls Community Center.
Town Supervisor Frank Schmitter clarified that the annual permit will not be discussed at the regular board meeting scheduled for December 3rd.
