Two Ontario County residents accused of allowing their dog to run free and attack a man and his son will be back in court in late January.
The case has been delayed because of the impending retirement of Canandaigua City Court Judge Jacqueline Sisson. Her successor would take over the case.
Casey Murphy and Madison Herendeen are charged with assault and reckless endangerment. They’re the former owners of a pit bull that attacked a 43-year-old man and his 10-year-old son while they were walking on Main Street in Canandaigua. Bystanders managed to secure the dog until police and other first responders arrived.
The same dog was reported to have attacked a 3-year-old girl.
