Salvation Army of Geneva Launches 2024 Red Kettle Campaign

The Salvation Army of Geneva will kick off its 2024 Red Kettle Campaign at City Hall on Friday at noon with the goal of raising $ 50,000. This annual fundraiser supports Salvation Army programs and services in Geneva, northeast Ontario, and Yates County throughout the year.

“We are excited to kick off our Red Kettle season here in our area,” said Major David Champlin. “We continue to see a great need in our community as men, women, and children look to The Salvation Army for assistance in their time of need.”

The Salvation Army of Geneva provides assistance to more than 1056 (unduplicated) families and individuals a year through its food pantry and emergency assistance program, after-school programs, men’s and women’s programs, youth summer overnight camping, pastoral counseling, and Christmas food and toy assistance.

“It is only through your generosity that we can respond to those in need through our services and programs,” Major Champlin said. “Funds raised stay local to make a difference right here in our community.”

This year’s Christmas Chairperson is Andy Tyman. Andy has been on The Salvation Army Advisory Board member for many years, and most recently serving as the past Board Chairman. Major Champlin added that the Salvation Army of Geneva is also in need of volunteers to ring bells at Salvation Army Red Kettle locations throughout the community.

“By ringing the bell at a Red Kettle for two hours this holiday season, you are helping us feed a family of four for a week,” he said. “There are many ways to make a difference for our community. From ringing the bell, adopting a family for Christmas, or hosting an Angel Tree, donating toys or non-perishable foods, donating through our Virtual Kettle, YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.”

Donations to The Salvation Army of Geneva can be made at any Red Kettle location, or online by clicking here.

Cash or checks can be dropped off, or mailed to, The Salvation Army of 41 North Street, Geneva, New York 14456.
