Seneca County residents will have a chance tonight to weigh in on the county’s Draft Solid Waste Management Plan.
A public hearing on the plan will take place at the Seneca County Board of Supervisors’ meeting at the county office building in Waterloo. The public hearing was originally scheduled for the board’s October meeting, but the meeting was quickly adjourned without the hearing as the large turnout of people exceeded the legal capacity of the room at the Three Bears courthouse in Ovid.
The plan identifies a ten-year path to manage and reduce the amount of solid waste generated within the county.
The 65-page plan makes no recommendations on the future of the Seneca Meadows Landfill in Seneca Falls.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 at the Seneca County Office Building in Waterloo.
