A Second Syracuse University Fraternity Placed on Suspension

SHARE NOW

Another fraternity at Syracuse University has been placed on suspension over hazing allegations.

Just days after the University’s Phi Kappa Psi fraternity was placed on interim suspension for alleged hazing, the Daily Orange reported Tuesday night Syracuse’s chapter of Psi Upsilon fraternity has also been placed on interim suspension for conduct that allegedly “placed students at risk.”

In an email sent to the entire Syracuse campus, Allen Groves, the senior vice president and chief student experience officer at SU, wrote that the University received evidence that reportedly depicted Psi U fraternity members engaging in “degrading” behavior. No other details were released.

SU’s Office of Community Standards and the Department of Public Safety are investigating the allegations against both Phi Psi and Psi U, Groves’ email states. SU will also work with the Syracuse Police Department to determine whether any criminal activity took place.
