Reports of Harmful Algal Blooms have reached an all-time high on Seneca Lake.
Bill Roege is with the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association. Speaking on FLX Morning with Ted Baker, he said that the amount of blooms reported this year is higher than previous years combined.
“This is the worst we’ve ever seen. In fact, I went back and this year, we’ve had more HABs than we’ve had in the last five years combined.”
Roege added that this isn’t confined to Seneca Lake with all but one of the eleven Finger Lakes experiencing an uptick in blooms this year.
