For the second week in a row, the Hobart football team has earned three of the Liberty League’s four weekly football awards. Senior quarterback Johnny Colombi (Castle View/Castle Rock, Colo.) was named the Offensive Performer of the Week, first-year cornerback Corey Rock (Cardinal Hayes/Bronx, N.Y.) was named the Defensive Performer of the Week and first-year wide receiver Johnny Harding (McQuaid/Rochester, N.Y.) was named the Rookie of the Week.

Additionally, first-year kicker Collin Goff (Ransom Everglades/Miami, Fla.) earned a spot on the Liberty League’s Weekly Honor Roll.

Hobart completed the non-conference portion of its schedule with a dominating 52-9 win at Keystone on Saturday. The Statesmen improved to 3-1 overall.

Colombi posted career highs for passing yards, touchdown passes and completion percentage against the Giants. He was 15-of-21 passing (.714) for 268 yards and four touchdowns. Colombi is the first Hobart quarterback to throw four or more TD passes in a game since Sept. 2, 2022. He was also Hobart’s leading rusher on Saturday, gaining 42 yards and scoring a touchdown on six carries.

Through four games, Colombi has completed 58% of his passes for 819 yards and eight touchdowns. He’s second in the Liberty League in passing yards and passing touchdowns. Colombi raised his career passing yards total to 2,876, moving up one spot to No. 11 on Hobart’s all-time list. His 20 career passing touchdowns are tied for 11th with Tommy O’Hare ’85.

Rock and the Hobart defense stymied a Keystone offense that came into Saturday’s game averaging 35.0 points and 438.3 yards. He posted a pair of interceptions against the Giants, returning his first collegiate pick 9 yards for a touchdown and then took the second one back 8 yards to set up the Statesmen’s final scoring drive of the game. Rock is the first Hobart player with multiple interceptions in a game since Sept. 9, 2023.

Harding earned his second Rookie of the Week award in as many games. He caught a team-high four passes for a game-high 109 yards and two touchdowns at Keystone. Harding’s first 100-yard receiving game featured a 15-yard TD early in the second quarter that gave the Statesmen a 13-3 lead and a 63-yard TD that capped the first half scoring, sending Hobart into the break with a 28-6 lead.

A starter in all four games this season, Harding leads the Statesmen with 16 receptions and 236 receiving yards. He’s second on the team with three TD catches. Harding is third in the Liberty League in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.

Goff made his Hobart debut at Keystone, handling the final six kickoffs of the game. He averaged 60.0 yards per kickoff, including a touchback.
