Chief Deputy John Falbo retired from the Ontario County Office of Sheriff on Friday.
According to a post on the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, Chief Deputy Falbo’s journey began on February 13, 2006, with the Sheriff’s Road Patrol. His dedication to public service is evident through his roles as an evidence technician and latent fingerprint examiner, and his courageous deployments to Iraq with his Army Reserve Unit, where he defended our nation’s freedoms.
In 2012, Chief Deputy Falbo’s expertise led him to become an investigator, focusing on crimes against children and working tirelessly to protect and bring justice to victims. His ascent continued with a promotion to Lieutenant in 2020, where he oversaw the Road Patrol, and then to Chief Deputy in 2021, including a stint as interim Sheriff for two months and serving as Undersheriff to Sheriff Povero in 2022.

“Chief Deputy Falbo has been a cornerstone of growth and professionalism within our Sheriff’s Office, particularly through his innovative use of technology and his meticulous attention to detail,” said Ontario County Sheriff David Cirencione. “His legacy of service, commitment, and leadership will be remembered and cherished by the citizens of Ontario County.”
